Heroes Banquet

The Burn Foundation hosts a Heroes Banquet every other year to thank those who help us serve burn patients and their families.  Representatives from four key groups are invited to this special evening as we salute their unique contributions to the Foundation. These groups include:

Corporate Donors and Sponsors

With 1.5 million nonprofits in the United States, we know that our corporate supporters are flooded with requests for contributions. Even so, many have selected Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation as their charity of choice year after year, providing grants, donations, and sponsorship dollars.

Firefighters and First Responders

For the firefighters and first responders who risk their lives each day, daring rescues are just the beginning of their commitment to those whose lives they save. Throughout the year, these selfless public servants invest their time and talents for the benefit of our Burn Foundation Families, raising 25% of our operating budget annually. The Heroes Banquet celebrates their bravery and our appreciation for their overwhelming generosity to the families we serve.

Health Care Partners

The Burn Foundation staff works closely with the healthcare team working in the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital.  These physicians, physician assistants, nurses, technicians, social workers, administrators and others care for burn patients during their stay in Augusta.  The burn patients and their families often refer to them as angels, miracle workers, or heroes.  We agree and feel privileged to have their support and assistance throughout the year.

Volunteers

Volunteers work for little more than an occasional "thank-you" and the joy that comes with knowing that you have made a difference in the life of another.  Contributing over 4,500 hours of service each year, it is difficult to put a price on the value they bring. They work in the Chavis House welcoming guests, in the burn center waiting rooms assisting families; and many provide the sweat equity that makes our special event successful.
